GREECE
Ever since I saw Mamma Mia in theaters in 2008 I knew I needed to get to Greece. It only took me fifteen years to make it happen, but wow was it worth the wait. The trip was extra special because it brought lifelong friends together — friends who live in every corner of the country, all making time to hop on planes (many, many planes) to come together for a show in Athens. My friend Brea, who I met when I was 19, went on to marry a musician and he leads one of our all time and good time bands, The Allah Lahs. So we planned the trip around the show; some of us got there earlier and discovered the rugged charm of Milos, then we all converged in Athens for one amazing night in the city, before the entire group made their way to the slightly more posh island of Paros.
Since this is a photography site, I’ll let the images do the talking but just know that the people we met, the food we ate, the beaches we swam on, and the rocks we jumped off of will live rent free in my mind for the rest of my days. Thank you for reading and thank you, Greece, for existing.

A hint of things to come, I took some photos of a young Australian kid who was absolutely hellbent on fishing all day every day despite not even a bite (save some kelp 😂). I snapped a few photos of him and his grandfather (shared below), got his mom’s contact info and sent them to her. This is what she said… (cue: Clique!)
